Battery Disposal Information
In connection with the sale of batteries and accumulators, we are obliged under the German Battery Act (Batteriegesetz, BattG) to inform our customers of the following:
Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally required to return used batteries and accumulators. Spent batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if stored or disposed of improperly.
However, batteries also contain valuable raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese or nickel, and are therefore recycled.
Meaning of Symbols
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste. Below this symbol you may find the following abbreviations:
- Pb – Battery contains lead
- Cd – Battery contains cadmium
- Hg – Battery contains mercury
Return Options
You may return used batteries and accumulators free of charge at the following locations:
- Municipal collection points (recycling centres)
- Retailers that sell batteries
- To us as the importer – please contact us by email at Sales@scu-group-europe.eu
For large-format batteries (industrial batteries), such as those used in our energy storage systems, we will arrange the return individually with you.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
In accordance with the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), old electrical appliances must not be disposed of with household waste. Waste electrical equipment can be returned at municipal collection points or to the manufacturer/distributor.
